Astonished at how amazing this place was. Interesting and creative roll combinations, excellent nigiri, and friendly service! The spicy garlic edamame was fantastic as well. If I lived here I’d be a regular!
Came here after a day snowboarding at Palisades. Very fresh and delicious sushi! Did not disappoint. It is hard to find fresh and tasty sushi coming from the Reno area, so I would say that this place is worth a trip to Tahoe and paying a la carte. Only issue was that we ordered hot green tea as we were cold from a day in the snow, but the tea was luke warm at best. The hot and flavorful Miso soup made up for this!
I stopped at City Sushi after a ski day. I had already eaten some afternoon snacks so I didn't need a big meal. I sat at the bar, had a lovely conversation with everyone around (customers and employees). Everybody treated me super nice, the food (a roll and the "employees miso soup") was very tasty, the hot sake nice and comforting, just a nice meal for a reasonable price. Personally, I would recommend this place to any of my friends.
Very grateful for vegan options! Warm staff and a nice ambiance! It would be wonderful to have some sushi with warm tempura inside, the favorite from all three were “Bahama mama” — has a citrusy flavor, coconut flakes are subtle. The other two are “I dream of Jean” and “Crop Burning”. Miso soup is not vegetarian, has a fish sauce.
One of our favorite sushi places!!! So many yummy rolls- even a whole page of vegan/vegetarian rolls! Favorites were Presto Maki, I Dream of Jean, Bahama Mama, Samoa, Pleasure Point, and Sunrise. Only roll we didn’t love was the poke roll, but still wasn’t bad.
Loved it! Service, food, everything, was great! This will be a permanent fixture when we go out to eat in Tahoe City. If you are looking for an authentic family vibe with great food and service, such a great, fun spot. We hit the “popular” spots (overpriced) this trip and this place beat them all. Best night/meal of our trip.
